Go to the 340 exit of Interstate 10, head west on Ft Grant Road to first traffic light (100 feet), turn right onto Virginia Avenue, go past the Holiday Inn, turn right onto Circle I road. The Chamber of Commerce is one-quarter mile further at the first corner

Lake Cochise – just south of Willcox on Hwy. 186, turn right towards Twin Lakes Golf Course and follow signs to birding area.
This is the closest designated birding location to the festival location and features a one-mile dirt road around to pond.

Apache Station Wildlife Area – Take the I-10 exit 331 south for 8.5 miles. Turn east on dirt road to viewind station just north of the power station. An elevated viewing platform and telescopes provide view of cranes.

Willcox Playa Wildlife Area - From Willcox, go east on AZ 186 for 6 miles; turn south on Kansas Settlement Road for 4 miles to the wildlife area on the west side of the road. A walk to the wildlife area on dirt roads.

From Tucson, take I-10 east to Hwy. 191, then south on Hwy. 191 to junction with Hwy. 181 (Sunizona). Continue south towards Elfrida and take Central Highway south to Davis Road, then west a short distance to Coffman Road then south for 2-miles. A major birding area all year and especially in winter for Sandhill Cranes.

From Willcox, go east on AZ 186 for 6 miles; turn south on Kansas Settlement Road. Continue south to the addess on the east side of the road. A private man-made pond attracts many birds that can be viewed from the roadside.

From Willcox, go east on AZ 186 following the signes for approximately 30-miles to the entrance to the Chiricahua National Monument. Restrooms are available at the fee station. Birding opportunities are available within the fee area or by taking the dirt road to the south to Pinery Canyon
